No excuses

When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
John 5:6-9 (NKJV)

It is very common for man to always assign a reason or excuse to every situation he finds himself in. We cannot really change our past but we can shape our present and future by responding appropriately to our circumstances. The man with infirmity at the pool of Bethesda was asked if he wanted instant healing.... a simple Yeah or Nay response, of course his response was a descriptive terse of the excuse or reason why healing had eluded him till now.

Don't we seek or create excuses when we only need to come boldly to the throne of grace to ask for His mercy, grace, help and intervention on our situations? Like the man at the pool of Bethesda, you can rise and move beyond your present situation if you quit seeking excuses, but believe and never doubt.

Be encouraged,
