He's willing, Just come

When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
Mathew 8:1-4 (NKJV)

The Leper of course had nothing to lose but all to gain. His situation wasn't so good and looked almost hopeless in that day. Rather than keep silent and continue to shield his issues... sorry there are some issues that can't be shielded or protected no matter how much we try. Leprosy falls into one of these, so the Leper did a couple of things. He anxiously waited for the right opportunity (preparation), when one became available, he seized and took advantage of it without delay (no procastination) by going to and worshipping the Lord (reverence and worship). And then he 'asked' according to the multitude of the tender mercies of the Lord... "If you are willing, you can make me clean". He never brought up excuses, or made any attempt to cover up his sins or display any trace of self-righteousness.

Acts of self-righteousness, covering up of our sins, justifying our acts that are contrary to His commandments, and playing the excuse card will never redeem a hopeless situation and case, but coming boldly and with humility to the throne of grace, we will find favor, grace and mercy in an ever willing God. We only need to take it all to him, no matter the magnitude of our circumstance. He is always willing.

Be encouraged,

Afolabi
