Using The Overflow

A quick admonishing to all the brethren…

When you reap your harvest in your field, and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. Deuteronomy 24:19

When the Lord blesses you with abundance, do you first think of what toys you will get? How much better it is for us to see the opportunity to share that bounty with those who are in need. How much richer will our lives be for the knowledge that what we have done for the least of these, we have done for our Savior.

Be encouraged,

Moving Through Life

July 30, 2007

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was
. James 1:23-24 KJV

God has given each of us a purpose in life. We must remember that we live to serve Him and others. He has given us the promise that if we take care of His Business in life, He will take care of our business. If we are not moving through life in that manner, then we will become like the man that James refers to in the verses above. We are only good when we can get the credit of what we do and hear our own praise. Let us not forget that God made us the manner of person that we are and He is able to sustain us in that state or move us to the next level.

No Standing Still

Today's church is so highly focused on getting folks saved, that it has lost sight of something utterly critical. The imperative of growth.

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, Hebrews 6:1 NKJV

The foundation has been laid, sisters and brothers. Let us not lay it again. Dig DEEP into His word and truly get to know the Lord. The better we know His voice and what He is saying, the more we will be transformed into the likeness of our Savior and Master.

Domino Effect - July 23, 2007

July 23, 2007

Friends,

Domino Effect

Romans 5:3-5

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

We have all played with dominos as children and seen great lines of dominos that have been pushed over and all fall together. I our spiritual life, we have the same type of opportunity. We can see from Paul's letter to the Romans, that when we are happy in out trials, that builds patience. We all know that patience builds the experience to know that God will come through for us. Once we realize that God will come through, we become more hopeful and trusting in God and His Power.

The Holy Ghost is the key ingredient in this domino effect. The presence of the Holy Ghost gives us access to God directly and we can feel the effect of our growing faith. We must trust God through all the facets of our life. We cannot make it on our own. We must lean wholly on God and know that everything we endure will be for His Glory.

Be Encouraged,
