Forsake, not justify

And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
Luke 16:15 (NKJV)

Man always and usually forgets his mere mortal nature while trying to portray a larger than life posture. All have sinned and fallen short of God's mark, but yet we have a gracious and merciful God who gives us another chance.

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV)

The Lord bestows His mercies on us when we come clean and humble ourselves before him. Man may fail in there personal endeavors... Marriage, business, relationships, lifestyles, etc. Man's wisdom seeks to justify his failures, which leads him down to a reprobate, seered and altered conscience and ultimate destruction. Our best justifications is like a filthy rag before God, because He knows our heart and we can hide nothing before Him. Confessing and forsaking our sins, shortcomings, weaknesses, etc before Him is the smart and best thing to do. To do otherwise will be to our peril.

Be encouraged,
