Staying Power

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,
Hebrews 3:12-15 (NKJV)

Many believers today come to the Lord just because of what they can get from Him. When we come to Him with this motive and our desires are not met in a timely fashion, frustration and disappointment sets in and the spirit of unbelief gathers momentum as it draws us away from the living God. Whether our heart’s desires be fulfilled or not, we must not depart from the living God. We must not seek Him for just the toys and bread alone, instead we must seek Him for a real relationship. This requires His grace for staying power. Let’s hold our confidence steadfast to the end for our God is forever faithful.
