God's intent for unbelievers

We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.” For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:1-6 (NKJV)

As the devotional rightly pointed out yesterday, the gospel is a mystery to man and unless God reveals it to man, it is nothing but senseless, foolish and ridiculous. Many that are yet to come to this knowledge of the truth and embrace it (Unbelievers, Gays, Lesbians, Atheists, etc) only need an Holy Spirit encounter and/or 'our attitude/role' to them. The world may ridicule the gospel today, but as Christ taught the believing world on the Cross (in pain and agony) we ought to exercise patience and work with the Holy Spirit to break hitherto hard and rocky hearts into fallow grounds for the ignition of the gospel in men for a huge harvest.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)

The fact that many blaspheme anything with God in it does not take them out of the realm of grace and mercy of the Almighty God. Let our hearts and souls form true partnerships with the Holy Spirit to reach, gain and win those that are yet to embrace this mystery of the gospel for God's Kingdom. That is the goal of our Creator - to prevent all if possible from perishing but come to repentance. This intent must be ours too.

Be encouraged,

Afolabi
