Equality before the Judge

Friends,

There will be days when it is easy to think of ourselves in an wonderful light. We look in the mirror and see a person who has it all together: We've dealt with the obvious areas of sin, established good habits of prayer, Bible study and fellowship, and we usually remember to be grateful for what the Lord has done for us. These are the times when humility might be hard to muster, and when humility is most important.

All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
-- Isaiah 53:6 [NKJV]

None of us is better than another. In God's eyes, our offenses against pure righteousness and holiness are equal. Each transgression fully disqualifies us from eternal life.

And Christ's blood pays the full price for every sin. In Christ, we again are equal. But now our equality is in grace.

Be encouraged, Jose
