In the footsteps of the Savior

…in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”
Hebrews 5:7-10 (NKJV)

The lifestyle of the Savior teaches us so many things. The one thing we won't have to do again is to face eternal death as the consequence of our sinful nature. He learned obedience through things which He suffered. This confirms the need for us to focus on the lessons and opportunities that are hidden in our daily challenges. In the struggles are secret jewels that when found perfects us and carries and keeps us through the tough seasons of life. A structure or faith built on quicksand or the bling-bling message of the modern era will never endure nor lead to perfection. So when the trying or challenging seasons come, never miss the bigger picture.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 (NKJV)

The footsteps of the Savior are plain, simple and also challenging. Any message that denies this is a heresy and we must vigorously run away from. Though tough, yet we have an assurance that with total partnership with the Helper (Holy Spirit), the walk isn't impossible but possible.

Be encouraged,

Afolabi
