The agony of defeat can be damning and depressing, but it must not consign us into a corner neither must one single event define who we are. Though temporarily hurtful, it must create the positive and aggressive instinct in us to be a much better person. Many have overcome the place and object of defeat in their lives to great exploits and come-backs. Joshua turned around his waterloo with the nation of Ai to a success story, King David confronted his place of humiliation and handily crushed the Amelekites to reclaim his treasures.
The place and object of defeat must never be a place of dread and fear, rather they must be overcome and be seen as symbols for our breakthrough. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
