Drunk while Waiting

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. Luke 12:45-46 [KJV]

Since Christ has not returned yet, we have had some opportunity to put off doing things that He has required of us. We procrastinate on our calling and do things that non-Christians are doing. As we become distracted with the cares of the world instead of the cares of the kingdom, we are susceptible to the opportunity to be caught up in worldly values and be in line for punishment instead of reward.

Don't be deceived, Christ will return. We do not know when, but we know that we can only serve while we are here. Let us not be drunk, distracted or non-attentive while we are waiting. Let us all be diligent in our work and our calling to spread the Good News of Christ.

Be Encouraged,

Martin
