Check Cashing

But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:8 [KJV]

When we speak, teach, brag, boast, chat, share and any other activities that include speaking, we have a potential to doing as much damage as good. Reason being is that the tongue is not always as obedient as we would hope. We can have discipline and the ability to control our thoughts when things are going well, but let the small bit of adversity arise. We suddenly feel like we have to attack, and what better way than to use words and what we think.

When I was younger, there was a saying that "Don't let your mouth write a check that your body can't cash?" In that saying, there was a clear "control your tongue" warning. The words that we use can build up and tear down. We must continue to be diligent because our words leave everlasting impressions, both what we say and what we don't say. Let's write some good checks with our words that people would love to cash and cherish.

Be Encouraged,

Martin
