Let's Get Out of our Own Way

Sometimes we get into a situation where we are seemingly trapped. We have created an environment that we cannot resolve without some sacrifice. We perpetuate activities that cause more trouble than good. We deviate from what we are called to do as Christians. We forget that God is more than the prosperity we enjoy. He is the Creator of all things. He is the reason that we are where we are. He is the reminder that we are to use the gifts and blessings that He has provided to help others.

We sometimes think like Ananias did when he sold the land. When the blessings of more money than he expected came, he wanted God's part because he thought that it would not make a difference. As we remember about him and his wife, there is always a penalty for getting in our own way and getting in God's way. Let's not do things to invoke that penalty.

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. I Peter 2:8 [KJV]

Be Encouraged,

Martin
