Everyday, we live in bondage. This is true even when we have been saved. The only difference is in the master. But oh what a difference!
Romans 6:18 [NKJV]
And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Because we have been ripped from the grasp of death and evil, we are now free to live a life that pleases a truly kind and generous Master. And that is a sweet bondage. It is why the relationship to Christ is compared so often to the marriage covenant. As a husband, I am bound to my wife and she to me. It is a bond of love and respect. Christ's love for us, His bride, binds us to Him in love and obedience. And He proved His love to us on the cross. And it is love that is deep beyond measure.
