The source of joy

Friends,

You know how some people so enjoy their jobs that it doesn't seem like work to them? Well, that's not me. I like what I do, and I consider my work to be of value to my clients and their businesses. But it's work. It is not the source of my fulfillment and great joy.

Here is where I find my joy ...

1 Thessalonians 4:17b-18
And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. [NKJV]

The day will come that we enter in our Lord's presence. And that knowledge is the source of my strength, my endurance and my joy.

No more argument

Friends,

For seemingly every issue, there is ongoing debate. The most vociferous seem to focus on political and economic issues. But nothing inspires passion, fury and volume like religion. And yet, we have a definitive, final word on the subject.

Psalm 119:89-91
Forever, O LORD,
Your word is settled in heaven.
Your faithfulness endures to all generations;
You established the earth, and it abides.
They continue this day according to Your ordinances,
For all are Your servants.
NKJV

Almighty God's word is settled in heaven and it persists. It has resisted countless attempts to disprove, denigrate and belittle it. It has survived attacks from every discipline known to man. The word of God has been established on earth, as it is on heaven.

Why are we still debating it?

Be encouraged, Jose

Remain Confident

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
Hebrew 10:35-36 (NKJV)

It is said that it is impossible to please God with our faith. Our Faith is exercised and comes to play not in times of ease, abundance, merry, good health or when all is going smoothly with us. We are able to express our faith in Him in very dire situations, circumstances and conditions that put our survival on the spot. When our season of faith comes, the above scripture admonishes us to uphold and keep our confidence in our faith intact, for such trying and challenging seasons can weaken our resolve, undermine our confidence and erode the strength of our faith if we lose heart and faith.

In our seasons of trial and challenges, we must endure and keep the faith, doing the will of our Father at all times. After doing this will we be qualified recipients of the promise.

Be encouraged,

Afolabi
